A 1. What was the strength of the speech? The strength I had in this speech was that I was talking at a good pace. I wasn't talking to fast or too slow so it was easy to understand what I was saying. I also remembered to breathe. I breathed in between sentence not only to make the speech longer but to make my words more clear.
2. What is an area of improvement? An area of improvement for me would to to not move as much. I swayed back and forth which was kind of distracting because you could hear when I moved in my voice.
3. What did you learn through the process of creating and giving this speech? I learned that when I practice I need to practice it exactly how I am going to say in when presenting. When I was practicing with Nora and Bella before I was giving it in front of the class I was doing it more as a joke then I was in front of an audience.
4. What is a "take away" you will use in the future? A "take away" I will use in the future is when I am practicing, take it seriously and practice it like how I am going to present it. Also to try and not move as much as I did. I can move a little bit but not as much as I did.
Speech Two: The Best
Reflection
1. What was the strength of the speech? The strength of this speech for me was that I incorporated a lot of emotion into it. I expressed my feelings as well as brought my experiences into the speech. 2. What is an area of improvement? An area for improvement would to not move as much. When I was up there I didn't even realize that I was moving that much or that I was moving at all. I need to keep that in mind when I present it to try and not move as much. 3. What did you learn through the process of creating and giving this speech? What I learned was if you put emotion and your own personal experiences, its easier to talk about as well as more entertaining. If you incorporate more emotion it becomes more personal and easier for people to relate to. 4. What is a "take away" you will use in the future? A take away I will use in the future is to try and not move as much because it is a distraction not only to myself but the audience. Also, to incorporate more emotion, more personal experience so it is easier for the audience to relate.
Reflection:
1. What was the strength of this speech? I think the strength of this speech was the research I did and how I incorporated it into my speech. I also think I did a good job using emotion and making sure I breathe during each topic.
2. What is an area of improvement? I still find myself moving around a lot when I talk. There is one point in my speech where I back far away from the podium and then walk back. 3. What did you learn through this process of creating and giving a speech? I learned that practice makes perfect. When I was in the process of creating this speech I would write down a sentence and then read it to make sure that it went with my topic and to make sure it made sense. I practiced these speeches for homework to make sure that I was under the time limit and to make sure when I presented it flowed smoothly.
4. What is a "take away" you will use in the future? A "take away" I will use in the future is to make sure that I don't move around to much because it is distracting. I will also be sure to keep practicing so my speech will flow more when I am presenting.
